About CRSPoint
An independent Canadian immigration publication built on primary sources, plain language and a clear separation between news and advice.
CRSPoint is an independent Canadian immigration publication. We exist to make federal and provincial immigration policy understandable to the people it affects: applicants, students, workers, families and the professionals who support them.
What we publish
We publish three kinds of work, and we label them clearly:
- News reporting — what changed, who announced it, when it takes effect and which primary document supports it.
- Explainers and guides — evergreen, step-by-step material on programs, documents and timelines.
- Analysis and opinion — clearly marked interpretation, never presented as fact or as legal advice.
How we work
Every policy story links to the IRCC page, the Canada Gazette notice, the provincial bulletin or the regulatory text it relies on. When a number appears in a story — a cut-off, a quota, a processing time — it carries a date and a source. When we cannot verify something, we say so or we do not publish it.
CRSPoint does not invent draw results, CRS cut-offs or official statistics. Our draw tracker is populated manually from official rounds of invitations, and sample rows shipped with the theme are labelled as samples until an editor replaces them.
Independence
CRSPoint is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Government of Canada. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. Readers with complex or time-sensitive cases should consult a regulated Canadian immigration consultant (RCIC) or an immigration lawyer.
Who we are
Our editorial team combines immigration reporting, program analysis and guides editing. Author biographies, coverage areas and archives are published on every profile page. Corrections are published openly under our corrections policy.
